MUSCAT: The Embassy of Nepal in Oman hosted an export, investment, tourism and employment promotion event in Muscat on Wednesday, aiming to strengthen economic ties between Nepal and Oman and encourage greater business collaboration between the two countries.
The event, titled “Economic Partnerships for Mutual Prosperity,” brought together more than 100 participants, including business executives, supermarket representatives, investors, media professionals, Nepali entrepreneurs and members of the Nepali community.


Speaking at the event, Nepal’s Ambassador to Oman, Dornath Aryal, highlighted Nepal’s potential in trade, tourism and foreign investment, inviting Omani businesses to explore opportunities in the Himalayan nation.

“Nepal is strategically located between India and China, two of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies, with a combined population of about 2.8 billion. This unique geographic position gives Nepal significant potential as a bridge for trade, investment and tourism,” Aryal said.
The embassy outlined priority sectors for foreign investment and showcased products with export potential from Nepal. Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary at the Embassy of Nepal, briefed attendees on investment opportunities and the procedures for establishing businesses in Nepal, assuring prospective investors of embassy support and facilitation.
The programme also featured a presentation by Omani corporate and litigation lawyer Khawla Mohammed Al Sadooni, who discussed labour laws and regulations in Oman, focusing on the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees and mechanisms for resolving workplace disputes.
As part of the event, the embassy screened a tourism promotional video highlighting Nepal’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage and tourism attractions. Participants were encouraged to explore potential partnerships in trade, investment and tourism between the two countries.
The event concluded with a networking dinner featuring traditional Nepali cuisine, including the popular dish momo.
