MUSCAT – The accreditation was renewed following a periodic evaluation survey conducted from June 15 to 17 as part of JCI’s accreditation cycle for healthcare institutions.

Affiliated with the University Medical City, the centre first received JCI accreditation in June 2023 and continues to be the only government healthcare institution in Oman accredited by the international body.

The JCI accreditation is among the world’s most rigorous healthcare quality standards, assessing healthcare institutions across key areas including patient safety, clinical service quality, governance and leadership, risk management, infection prevention, medication management, staff competency and continuous improvement.

The center’s continued accreditation reflects its ability to maintain international standards in specialized cancer care, while strengthening quality, safety and accountability across its operations.

The achievement enhances Oman’s standing in advanced healthcare services and supports the country’s growing role in cancer treatment, research, education and medical training.

The University Medical City highlighted that maintaining international accreditation demonstrates the commitment of national health institutions to developing sustainable healthcare models aligned with global best practices.

The recognition also reinforces confidence among patients and beneficiaries that the center’s treatment pathways operate under internationally recognized standards for safety, quality and continuity of care.
