Tunis: The latest achievement reinforces Oman’s growing presence on the international Paralymic athletics stage, with national athletes delivering strong performances against top competitors from across the world.

Taha Al-Harasi’s bronze medal adds to the success already achieved by the Omani contingent in Tunisia. Earlier in the competition, Iman bint Taysir Al Shamsi opened Oman’s medal account by securing a silver medal in the javelin throw event, setting a new personal best in the process. Qusay bin Abdullah Al Rawahi then added another bronze medal in the 100-metre race, further boosting the national team’s success.

The results highlight the steady development of Paralymic athletics in Oman and reflect the technical preparedness and competitive capabilities of the country’s athletes at regional and international levels.

The Tunis International Paralympic Athletics Meeting is considered one of the key qualifying events in the lead-up to the Asian Para Athletics Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Japan next October.

Oman is represented at the championship by eight athletes: Mohammed bin Jamil Al-Mashaikhi, Taha bin Abdullah Al-Harasi, Mohammed bin Harith Al-Qasimi, Talib bin Abdullah Musafir Al-Balushi, Qusay bin Abdullah Al-Rawahi, Rawan bint Ahmed Al-Hasaniya, and Iman bint Taysir Al Shamsi.
