WASHINGTON : U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf have electronically signed an agreement aimed at ending the conflict between the United States and Iran, a senior U.S. administration official said on Monday.
“The president wanted to sign it personally because he wanted to show his dedication to bringing this through to a successful resolution,” the official told reporters during a conference call, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The official said the electronic signatures formalized a deal that both sides had negotiated to halt hostilities and lay the groundwork for broader regional stability following months of escalating tensions.

The agreement comes after Trump announced that Washington and Tehran had reached a ceasefire arrangement, describing it as a step toward restoring security and economic activity in the region, including the resumption of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
