ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that negotiations aimed at securing a peace agreement between Iran and the United States were nearing completion, with a deal potentially ready within the next 24 hours.

Speaking during a high-level meeting, Sharif said the parties were closer than ever to reaching an agreement and that preparations were underway for an electronic signing of the accord once final arrangements were completed.

“We are closer than at any previous time to a peace agreement, and it is expected to be completed within 24 hours,” Sharif said, according to remarks carried by media reports.
