Tehran: Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Donald Trump said the United States had reached what he described as a “great settlement” to the conflict with Iran and suggested that an agreement could be signed in the coming days.

Trump stated that Vice President J.D. Vance may sign the agreement on behalf of the United States if negotiations are successfully concluded. He also revealed that he had called off plans for new attacks on Iran, citing positive developments in the ongoing talks.

The proposed agreement is expected to help restore maritime navigation and ease tensions in the region, which have affected global shipping routes and trade.

Meanwhile, Iran maintained a cautious stance. Iranian media quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei as saying that while large portions of the agreement’s text have been finalized, Tehran has not yet reached a final conclusion.

Baghaei stressed that Iran would not compromise on its key principles, describing the issue as highly significant and currently under review by the country’s relevant decision-making authorities.

Among Iran’s main demands are the lifting of international sanctions and the release of billions of dollars in frozen assets.
