Muscat: The Indian Embassy in Oman has confirmed that all 22 Indian crew members aboard the vessel MT Jalveer have been safely evacuated ashore after a fire broke out on the ship.
In an official statement, the Embassy said the rescue operation, carried out with the support of Omani authorities, was successfully completed and that all crew members were brought to safety. The Mission is now coordinating with the relevant Omani authorities regarding further actions related to the incident.
According to preliminary information, the vessel experienced a fire in its engine room and funnel areas. The exact cause of the blaze remains unknown and is currently under investigation by maritime security agencies and other concerned authorities.

Emergency response teams swiftly mobilised to contain the situation and ensure the safety of those onboard. Efforts were focused on evacuating the crew from the vessel and transporting them safely to Shinas Port.
The operation was conducted with assistance from the Royal Navy of Oman, whose personnel played a key role in supporting the evacuation process.
