MUSCAT : The met office warned of active winds and dust storms affecting several interior and desert areas, alongside reduced visibility risks due to sandstorms. Late-night and early-morning low cloud formation or fog is also expected in parts of South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates.
As per the latest alerts – issued on June 9, 2026 – moderate-intensity active winds are affecting areas including Izki, Al Hamra, Al Khaboura, Ar Rustaq, As Suwaiq, Al Oud, and Al Maawil.
A separate dust storm warning has also been issued for Adam, Al Buraimi, As Sunaynah, Bahla, Dhank, and Ibri, with moderate intensity conditions expected to reduce visibility in affected areas.
Earlier warnings issued at 9 am indicated active winds over coastal and interior regions including Al Jazirah, Duqm, Thumrait, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jaalan Bani Bu Ali, Rakhyut, and Sadah.
