TEHRAN — Explosions were reported across Iran, including in the capital Tehran and the cities of Tabriz and Isfahan, after Israel launched a series of strikes on Iranian targets, escalating tensions between the two regional rivals.
The Israeli military said it carried out the attacks in response to an Iranian missile barrage fired at northern Israel, accusing Tehran of threatening Israeli security and regional stability.
Iran had earlier launched missiles towards northern Israel, claiming the move was a response to what it described as repeated Israeli violations of a ceasefire through continued military operations in Lebanon.
