New Delhi: The announcement marks a significant shift in India’s T20 setup, with teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earning his maiden senior call-up and emerging fast bowler Prince Yadav also securing a place in the squad.

India’s 16-member squad reflects a blend of established performers and promising young talent as the team begins preparations for the next phase of its T20 journey. Shreyas Iyer will lead the side, while Tilak Varma has been entrusted with vice-captaincy responsibilities, signaling the selectors’ confidence in a new leadership group.

One of the biggest talking points is the inclusion of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has rapidly risen through the ranks with impressive performances in domestic and franchise cricket. The young batter has been widely tipped as one of India’s brightest prospects and is now in line to become one of the youngest players to represent the national team in the format.

Prince Yadav has also been rewarded for his consistent performances, earning his place alongside a bowling attack that includes Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar.

The batting unit features several experienced T20 campaigners, including Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tilak Varma, providing depth and flexibility to the squad.

The selection represents a notable transition for India’s T20 side, with the management looking to build a core group capable of carrying the team into the next ICC cycle. The leadership appointments and inclusion of emerging talents indicate a focus on long-term planning while maintaining a competitive edge in overseas conditions.
