Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has engaged in a series of high-level phone conversations with the foreign ministers of France, Türkiye, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, according to a statement posted by Iran’s Foreign Ministry on X.
The discussion with Pakistan also included General Asim Munir, the country’s Chief of Army Staff, highlighting the growing regional concern over the unfolding security situation.
The diplomatic calls followed a wave of drone and missile strikes launched by Iran targeting Kuwait and Bahrain. Tehran has maintained that the attacks were carried out in response to what it described as “US aggression”.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s military said it successfully intercepted three missiles and several drones aimed at civilian infrastructure within the kingdom. In a strongly worded statement, the Bahrain Defence Force attributed the attacks to Iran and condemned them as a violation of international law.
“The general command of the Bahrain Defence Force announces Iran continues its systematic hostile campaign through its criminal attacks using missiles and drones targeting civilian facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” the statement said.
