Do you need a drone license for indoor filming in Oman? CAA clarifies rules

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has clarified that drones can be used for filming inside enclosed halls and buildings in Oman without the need for a license, provided operators comply with safety and security requirements.

MUSCAT – The clarification addresses a common question about whether drones require a license when used inside enclosed buildings and halls.

According to the Authority, the use of drones inside buildings and enclosed venues is exempt from licensing requirements that apply to outdoor drone operations. However, operators must comply with all safety and security regulations and obtain approval from the owner or management of the premises.
