MUSCAT — SNF Oman has announced a new strategic investment in a polymer manufacturing plant at Raysut Industrial City, reinforcing its long-term commitment to industrial growth, local manufacturing, and In-Country Value (ICV) development in Oman.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Christophe Rivas, Oil & Gas Director; Flavien Gathier, Engineering & EOR Director – VP O&G; and Ishaq Al Shaqsi, Business Development Manager at SNF Oman.

The company said Phase 1 of the project commenced operations in January 2026, focusing on local polymer processing activities with an annual production capacity of around 6,000 metric tonnes.

According to SNF Oman, the initial phase is aimed at supporting domestic market demand while strengthening supply chain resilience within the Sultanate.

Phase 2 of the project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026 and will transform the facility into a full-scale polymer manufacturing plant with additional production capacity exceeding 10,000 metric tonnes per year.

The expansion is expected to position Oman as a regional hub for advanced polymer technologies, particularly in sectors linked to enhanced oil recovery and industrial applications.

SNF Oman said it has already committed more than $100 million in local investments and is evaluating future expansion opportunities that could exceed $250 million.

The company added that the project aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by supporting industrial diversification, strengthening ICV, and creating employment opportunities for Omani nationals.

SNF Oman also said the project will contribute to the recruitment and training of young Omani graduates and engineers in cooperation with local authorities.

Established in 2010 under the SNF Group, the company specialises in polyacrylamide-based polymers and advanced polymer technologies used in enhanced oil recovery and industrial operations.
