MUSCAT – According to the authority, the case began after a consumer filed a complaint stating that she had entered into a contract with a commercial establishment to purchase a new vehicle valued at RO 6,999 and had completed all contractual procedures. However, before taking delivery of the vehicle, she requested the cancellation of the contract due to special circumstances that prevented her from completing the purchase.
The CPA’s department in South Al Sharqiyah reviewed the complaint and followed the legal and regulatory procedures applicable to the case. Following discussions between both parties, the department succeeded in reaching an amicable settlement that required the commercial establishment to refund the full amount paid by the consumer.
