MUSCAT : The draw ceremony for “Gulf 27” was held on Monday evening in Jeddah at the Culture Square of the Red Sea International Film Festival’s Arts Center building, in the presence of senior Gulf football officials and former football stars.
Group B features the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Yemen national teams.
Oman heads into the tournament with high public expectations following a string of impressive performances in recent Gulf Cup editions. The national team reached the final of the previous edition, reinforcing its reputation as one of the region’s strongest competitors.

The Reds carry a rich Gulf Cup history since making their debut in the third edition of the tournament in 1974.
Oman secured its first Gulf Cup title during “Gulf 19” in Muscat in 2009 after defeating Saudi Arabia on penalties in a historic final at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
The national team lifted its second title in “Gulf 23” in Kuwait in 2018 after overcoming the UAE in the final.
The tournament will follow a two-group format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The winners of each group will face the runners-up of the opposite group to determine the finalists.
Omani fans are now eagerly awaiting the national team’s campaign under Moroccan coach Tariq Sektioui.
