Oman’s North Batinah Governorate reviews key development projects for 2027

North Al Batinah Governorate Municipal Council reviewed the governorate’s proposed development projects for 2027 as part of its five-year development plan.

MUSCAT : The projects include infrastructure upgrades, waterfront development, internal road paving, entrance beautification projects, urban planning, and improvements to public services aimed at supporting sustainable development and enhancing living standards for citizens and residents.

The discussions took place during a council meeting chaired by His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of the Municipal Council.

Council members also reviewed implementation frameworks, financing mechanisms, and partnership opportunities with the private sector, in addition to governorate development programmes, participatory initiatives, and social responsibility projects.

Among the proposed initiatives were plans for the design, implementation, and paving of internal roads across the wilayats, along with the development of key service and strategic roads.

The council further discussed projects related to waterfronts, urban expansion plans, and the enhancement of commercial and tourism areas to strengthen economic and social development in the governorate.

In addition, members reviewed responses from government entities and specialised committees concerning health, social, service, and regulatory matters, as well as initiatives supporting public councils, youth economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and other service-related development projects.
