MUSCAT : The municipality pointed out that compliance with hygiene and sterilisation procedures is essential to protect public health and improve service quality within salons and beauty establishments.
It also outlined key safety measures that must be followed, including ensuring that towels and seating areas are clean and properly maintained, and preventing the use of shared or unsterilised cosmetics.
Salons have also been urged to ensure that all tools, including makeup brushes, scissors, tweezers, and hairbrushes, are properly cleaned and sterilised before use. Customers are encouraged to choose licensed salons that prioritise hygiene and safety standards.
The guidelines further recommend that clients inquire about sterilisation methods used before procedures, ensure tools are either single-use or thoroughly disinfected after each use, and confirm that staff wear clean protective gloves during services.
