MUSCAT : The Royal Oman Police, represented by the Directorate General of Customs, said the achievement marks a significant leap from Oman’s previous ranking of 47th in 2023.

This improvement reflects rapid progress in digital transformation, streamlined customs procedures, and enhanced trade facilitation systems across the Sultanate.

The report highlighted Oman’s strengthened performance in accelerating clearance processes, reducing processing time, and improving cargo handling efficiency through advanced systems and integrated government operations.

Key factors contributing to the ranking include enhanced international data exchange, smart risk management systems, pre-clearance mechanisms, and full adoption of electronic customs clearance procedures.

Additionally, Oman’s single-window customs platform, ‘Bayan’, has helped unify procedures and improve coordination between relevant agencies, significantly boosting operational efficiency.
