Oman’s postal sector transferred to Transport Ministry under Royal Decree

A Royal Decree has been issued transferring all postal sector responsibilities, assets and employees from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

MUSCAT : According to the decree issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, all competencies, assets, rights, obligations and existing holdings related to the postal sector will be transferred from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The decree also stipulates that employees assigned to the postal sector at the TRA will be transferred to the ministry while retaining their financial grades and employment benefits. The transfer process will be carried out in accordance with a mechanism to be agreed upon between the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Executive President of the TRA.
