AMMAN : Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah finished in first place, while Saudi driver Hamza Bakhashab came third in the rally, which featured 12 challenging stages across difficult terrain and attracted strong public attendance along the route.
Al Rawahi said the competition was intense over the two-day event, particularly during the long stages on the second day that demanded sustained high-speed driving. He noted that tyre issues affected performance during the race.

“We faced tyre blowouts more than once, and our tyre choices were not ideal, which forced us to reduce speed in some stages. We also did not have enough testing time with the car, and we still need adjustments to better suit the driving conditions, especially on slopes and tight corners,” Al Rawahi said.
In another category, Omani driver Zakaria Al Amri, alongside navigator Mohammed Al Mazroui, faced technical issues from the second stage of the rally while driving their Subaru Impreza. Despite the setback, he managed to complete all stages and secured second place in the MERC 2 category, earning valuable points that improved his overall standing.
