MUSCAT : In a statement, the ministry said the contract must be prepared in two copies, with each party retaining one copy. It added that contracts may also be drafted in another language, provided that an approved Arabic version is attached and signed by both parties, with both versions carrying equal legal validity.
The ministry further clarified that if no written employment contract exists, workers retain the right to prove their claims and entitlements through all legally accepted means of evidence.
Authorities also stressed that employment contracts must be approved by the competent authority as part of the legal employment procedures in the Sultanate.
