MUSCAT : In a statement, the Ministry said it is working closely with import companies and relevant authorities to strengthen livestock supplies across the Sultanate and meet consumer demand during the festive season.
According to the Ministry, more than 194,400 sheep and 13,700 cattle have been imported into Oman since the beginning of April. It added that additional shipments are expected to arrive before Eid al-Adha, including around 50,000 sheep and 3,000 cattle, in an effort to further boost market availability.
The Ministry also confirmed that it is continuously monitoring livestock markets and prices, while ensuring stable supplies and suitable options for consumers across all governorates.

At the same time, the Ministry noted that some exporting countries are currently facing logistical and shipping-related challenges under prevailing circumstances, which has led to delays and limitations in importing certain types of livestock from a number of countries.
