MUSCAT : The announcement marks a key milestone in expanding investment opportunities and enhancing cooperation with the private sector, alongside leveraging Asyad’s integrated logistics ecosystem to improve connectivity with global markets.

As part of the launch, Asyad signed its first usufruct agreement with Nama Real Estate to establish, manage, and operate a business complex over an area of 25,000 square metres within the free zone.
The project represents the first wave of investment activity in the zone and is designed as a modern business complex featuring smart offices and integrated workspaces to support regional and international companies.

It also aims to strengthen the free zone’s appeal as a hub for corporate headquarters and investment services, supported by integrated logistics solutions across free zones, ports, and land and maritime transport networks operated by Asyad Group.

The first phase of development at the Muscat Airport Free Zone spans 400,000 square metres and includes completed infrastructure such as internal road networks, utilities (water, electricity, and telecommunications), and a dedicated services building to streamline investor procedures.

The zone benefits from direct connectivity to major road networks and its strategic location adjacent to Muscat International Airport, enhancing operational efficiency and access to regional and global markets.

Faisal bin Ali Al Balushi, Senior Executive Director of the Muscat Airport Free Zone at Asyad, said the partnership with the private sector represents a key pillar in building a world-class logistics and investment ecosystem originating from Oman.

He pointed out that the agreement with Nama Real Estate reflects this vision and supports national efforts aligned with the priorities of the Oman Investment Authority and the economic diversification goals of Oman Vision 2040.

For his part, Hilal bin Abdullah Al Hawqani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nama Real Estate Company, said the company will leverage its expertise in real estate development to deliver and operate a global-standard business complex focused on flexible and sustainable work environments that support business growth.

He added that the project will enhance the quality of commercial real estate assets within the free zone and support investment expansion across various sectors.

The Muscat Airport Free Zone aims to position itself as a regional business and logistics hub by offering competitive incentives, including 100 percent foreign ownership, customs and tax exemptions, and a one-stop shop system for licensing and administrative services.

The zone targets key industries such as e-commerce, logistics, pharmaceuticals, precious metals, and aviation-related services, leveraging its strategic proximity to Muscat International Airport to facilitate efficient access to global markets.
