MUSCAT – According to a notice issued by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, holders of ordinary passports from the Sultanate of Oman and several other countries will be permitted to enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.

The visa exemption applies to travel for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, cultural exchange, and transit purposes. Travelers who do not meet the exemption criteria will still be required to obtain a Chinese visa prior to entry.

China said the policy extension forms part of efforts to promote continued international travel and deepen cooperation with partner countries.

The updated visa-free arrangement will remain valid until December 31, 2026, and includes a broad list of countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania and Latin America, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman.
