NEW DELHI : The discussions focused on strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties between the two friendly nations while laying the groundwork for the agreement’s implementation mechanisms.
Officials from both sides reviewed several technical and organizational aspects linked to the FTA, including the facilitation of customs procedures, smoother movement of goods and services, enhancement of trade flow, and the harmonization of technical and health standards. The meetings also explored investment opportunities and potential industrial and logistics partnerships.
Participants stressed the importance of expediting the remaining technical and procedural requirements needed for the agreement to enter into force. They noted that the FTA is expected to open new avenues for economic cooperation, increase trade exchange, and boost mutual investments, particularly in key sectors such as food security, manufacturing, renewable energy, modern technologies, logistics, fisheries, and agriculture.

The meetings also highlighted the opportunities the agreement would create for Omani and Indian companies, including wider market access, reduced customs duties, and stronger supply chain integration. Officials said these benefits would improve the competitiveness of national products and create promising opportunities for private sector growth in both countries.
Both sides noted that Oman-India relations are witnessing rapid growth across economic and trade sectors, backed by deep-rooted historical ties and a shared commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation in line with global economic developments.
The meetings concluded with both countries agreeing to continue technical coordination in the coming phase, while strengthening engagement between government authorities and the private sector.
