KATHMANDU – The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal said the flight, arriving from Istanbul with 277 passengers and 11 crew members, experienced a sudden fire in a rear tyre immediately after touching down on the runway. Fire and rescue teams responded promptly and brought the blaze under control.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported among passengers or crew. Air traffic at the airport was temporarily suspended as a precaution to ensure runway safety before normal operations resumed.

Relevant authorities have launched a technical investigation into the incident, with preliminary indications suggesting a possible malfunction in the braking system during landing.
