MUSCAT : The survey will cover institutions operating in information and communication technology (ICT) activities, e-commerce service providers, and digital mediation platforms, along with a sample of businesses from various economic sectors across the Sultanate of Oman.
According to Abdul Aziz bin Khamis Al Sunaidi, Director of the National Accounts Department at the NCSI, the survey forms part of the centre’s ongoing efforts to assess the size of the digital economy and monitor its impact on the national economy.
Speaking to the Oman News Agency, Al Sunaidi said the initiative will support the development of accurate indicators that assist decision-makers in formulating economic policies and strengthening digital transformation initiatives in Oman.

He noted that the survey results will help estimate the contribution of the digital economy to Oman’s GDP for 2025 at current prices, based on the three internationally recognised levels of the digital economy, basic, narrow, and broad.
Al Sunaidi added that the survey is among the key statistical projects designed to keep pace with rapid economic and technological developments globally.
Data collection for the survey will be conducted electronically through a dedicated online link. The NCSI will also coordinate directly with targeted institutions and provide the required technical support to ensure smooth participation.
