MUSCAT : The ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, in the presence of several ministers, senior officials, representatives of private sector establishments, civil society institutions, and individuals interested in labor and workers’ issues.
The celebration aims to highlight the importance of the trade union movement in Oman and its role in improving working conditions in private sector establishments, in addition to honoring recipients of the Trade Union Award for 2025.
Alongside the event, the federation will launch a media campaign focusing on strengthening the social protection system and safeguarding workers from contract termination, with particular emphasis on job security during periods of unemployment.

The ceremony will also review key achievements, issues, and indicators highlighted in the federation’s 2025 annual report. Additionally, it will launch an artistic work titled “Oman’s Workforce,” aimed at showcasing the value of workers and their status in society, while promoting a modern and positive image reflecting professionalism, dedication, ambition, loyalty, and strengthening workers’ sense of professional belonging and motivation to continue contributing.
During the event, the General Federation of Oman Workers will sign a cooperation agreement with Petroleum Development Oman and a memorandum of cooperation with the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), reflecting ongoing collaboration between the federation and private sector institutions to serve the workforce’s best interests. This stems from shared responsibility between labor unions and employers and a belief in the importance of constructive dialogue in improving the work environment and enhancing job stability.
The federation has also adopted the Trade Union Award to honor labor unions, government entities, private establishments, and civil society organisations – or their representatives – that contribute to supporting and developing trade union work. The award aims to help achieve labor market balance, ensure economic and social stability, and encourage targeted groups to continue advancing the trade union movement.
It is worth noting that the total number of labor unions in the Sultanate of Oman reached approximately 340 by the end of December 2025.
