RABAT : Oman para athletics team secured seven diverse medals at the International Athletics Championship, which was hosted by the Moroccan capital, Rabat. The competition, held at the Olympic Stadium, saw the participation of approximately 500 athletes representing 58 nations.
Oman’s medal tally comprised one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals. Athlete Saif Al Muqbali claimed the gold medal in the 200m race and also earned the silver medal in the 100m race. Meanwhile, Eman Al Shamsi won two silver medals in the shot put and javelin throw events.
In the bronze medal category, Mohamed Al Qasmi secured bronze in the shot put, Othman Al Habsi earned bronze in the 400m race, and Sharifa Al Hatmi obtained bronze in the shot put.

This participation is part of the athletes’ preparation program for upcoming competitions, foremost among them the Fifth Asian Para Games, scheduled to take place in Japan this October. The championship serves as a crucial milestone for achieving qualifying times, enhancing international rankings, and assessing the technical readiness of the athletes.
