MUSCAT — The initiative, implemented in coordination with the Royal Oman Police (Directorate General of Customs) and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, aims to streamline procedures, reduce delays, and enhance transparency in freight operations across the Sultanate.
According to the Ministry, measures include the electronic tracking of truck movements to ensure compliance with operational schedules, and the use of the OneWB electronic transport documents platform to directly contract Omani truck drivers.

The system also introduces fast-track lanes for high-performing and compliant trucks, while all logistics operations are recorded through a unified digital framework to improve oversight and coordination.
Additional facilitation measures include the transfer of containers between trucks, trailer exchanges for movement to ports and logistics hubs, and expedited land transport permits for oversized and heavy vehicles at border crossings. Operations are being conducted throughout the week with flexible scheduling to minimise delays.

The Ministry said the reforms are designed to support “easier transit and faster trade” while strengthening the efficiency of land transport networks across Oman.

It called on all transport service beneficiaries to cooperate fully with the updated procedures, adding that any further operational or regulatory changes will be announced through its official communication channels.
