MUSCAT : Aimed at streamlining emergency response and ensuring rapid intervention for those in need, the authority highlighted specific categories where specialised emergency teams are dispatched to respond to critical and life-threatening cases requiring urgent pre-hospital care.
The authority said the service is deployed for a wide range of emergencies, including severe respiratory conditions and critical heart diseases, as well as major trauma cases such as serious fractures, burns, and severe bleeding. It also responds to neurological emergencies, including sudden loss of consciousness, partial or complete paralysis, and other critical nervous system conditions.
In addition, the service covers general medical emergencies such as poisoning, drowning incidents, and severe electrical shocks. It also extends to maternal emergencies involving obstructed or complicated childbirth, as well as acute psychiatric crises requiring urgent intervention.
