Gulf art legend Hayat Al-Fahad passes away at 78

The Gulf art scene is mourning the loss of Kuwaiti artist Hayat Al-Fahad, who passed away at the age of 78 after a long illness, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy spanning more than six decades.

KUWAIT : Widely known as the ‘Lady of the Gulf Screen’, Hayat Al-Fahad was regarded as one of the region’s most prominent cultural figures. Over her career, she delivered dozens of acclaimed performances across television, theatre and cinema, helping shape the modern Gulf artistic landscape.

She began her career with the television series ‘Abu Jassoum’s Family’, later taking to the stage in the play ‘The Victim’, before making her cinematic debut in ‘Bas Ya Bahar’.

Throughout her career, Hayat Al-Fahad collaborated with leading Gulf artists, including Abdulhussain Abdulredha, Saad Al-Faraj, Suad Abdullah, Ghanem Al-Saleh, Khaled Al-Nafisi and Mohammed Al-Mansour, cementing her status as one of the pillars of Gulf art.
