SALALAH — Dhofar Municipality said it had recorded an incident involving the fall of a children’s amusement ride inside a private entertainment centre, prompting immediate safety measures and a temporary closure of the site.
The municipality said it acted swiftly to ensure public safety, ordering the closure of the location, a comprehensive technical inspection of all rides, and a full assessment of compliance with approved safety standards.
A specialised technical team has been assigned to carry out a detailed evaluation of the facility before any decision is taken on reopening, it added.

Authorities said inspections would also be expanded to cover all private entertainment venues operating electrical rides, as part of broader precautionary measures.
Dhofar Municipality stressed the need for all entertainment establishments to strictly adhere to safety and security regulations approved by relevant authorities, underscoring that visitor safety remains a top priority.
