MUSCAT – During the visit, CPA Chairman His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali Al Hakmani reviewed the progress of regulatory and awareness activities and assessed the efficiency of complaint handling and field monitoring systems operated by the Authority’s directorate in the governorate.
According to the Consumer Protection Authority, the visit aimed to reinforce field presence, improve responsiveness to consumer reports, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across commercial establishments.
As part of the programme, the Chairman met with His Highness Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, where both sides discussed ways to enhance coordination between the Authority and local administrative bodies. The discussions focused on supporting market stability, raising compliance levels and strengthening efforts to safeguard consumer rights.

The visit also included field inspections of markets and commercial outlets across Dhofar to evaluate trading activities and verify the quality and safety of goods offered to consumers. Officials assessed the level of compliance among service providers and reviewed mechanisms designed to address violations and consumer complaints.
In addition, the Chairman examined the readiness of the Authority’s offices in the governorate and reviewed ongoing awareness initiatives aimed at educating consumers and merchants on their rights and obligations.
The CPA said the visit reflects its broader strategy to enhance field oversight, improve operational efficiency and strengthen institutional partnerships in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to promote a balanced, transparent and fair market environment.
