TEHRAN : Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, arrived in Iran on Wednesday as part of a senior delegation for talks focused on reviving negotiations between Tehran and Washington, Iranian sources told Al Jazeera.

The visit comes amid renewed efforts to restart dialogue between the United States and Iran after recent negotiations failed to yield an agreement, leaving key issues unresolved.

Munir is expected to meet senior Iranian officials to explore pathways for resuming talks, with Pakistan continuing to position itself as a facilitator in the diplomatic process. Islamabad had earlier hosted high-stakes discussions between US and Iranian representatives, which stretched over several hours but ended without a deal.
