MUMBAI – The iconic singer, who had a career spanning more than eight decades, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest. Hospital sources said she was receiving treatment in the Emergency Medical Services unit before her death.

Bhosle began her singing career in 1943 and went on to become one of the most prolific and versatile playback singers in Indian cinema. Over the decades, she recorded thousands of songs across multiple Indian languages and remained a defining voice in film music, private albums and international stage performances.
