Oman’s Foreign Minister holds intensive diplomatic talks to support regional ceasefire efforts

Oman’s Foreign Minister, His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic calls with counterparts from the UK, Russia, Japan, and more to support the US-Iran ceasefire and regional peace.

MUSCAT – According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks centred on supporting mediation efforts, stabilising the ceasefire, and advancing dialogue aimed at ending hostilities and halting violence. The outreach reflects Oman’s ongoing role in promoting de-escalation and diplomatic solutions amid heightened regional tensions.

The consultations included discussions with His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait, His Excellency Sergey Lavrov of Russia, His Excellency Jean-Noël Barrot of France, and His Excellency José Manuel Albares of Spain.

Further engagements were held with Her Excellency Yvette Cooper of the United Kingdom, His Excellency Mohamad Hasan of Malaysia, His Excellency Tom Bruijn of the Netherlands, and His Excellency Paulo Rangel of Portugal.

The diplomatic contacts also extended to His Excellency Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla of Cuba, His Excellency Motegi Toshimitsu of Japan, His Excellency Hugo de Zela of Peru, and His Excellency Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez of Panama.

Additional discussions included His Excellency Yasutoshi Nishimura, Chairman of the Oman-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association, and senior international figures, including representatives from UNESCO.
