WASHINGTON : The White House has clarified that no agreement has been reached to unfreeze Iranian assets, contradicting reports circulated earlier in the day. A US official dismissed the claims, stating that Washington has not taken any such decision.
The clarification comes after Reuters reported that the US had agreed to release Iranian funds frozen in banks across Qatar and other foreign locations. The report cited a senior Iranian source as the basis for the claim.
However, US authorities have moved swiftly to refute the report, underscoring that no such agreement exists at this time.
