BANGKOK : Oman National Hockey Team has reached the final match of the qualifiers for the “Japan 2026” Asian Games after defeating Uzbekistan in a penalty shootout (5-4), following a thrilling 4-4 draw in regulation time. The match took place at the Royal Thai Air Force Stadium in Bangkok.


With this victory, the national team continues its steady journey toward the goal of winning the qualifying championship, having already secured its qualification for the 2026 Asian Games.

The games are scheduled to be held in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October. The national team will compete in the final tomorrow, Friday, against the winner of the match between Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
