MUSCAT : The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) discussed proposals to enhance the services of the “My Business Sustainability” platform during its meeting, chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Amer Al Musalhi, Chairman of the Committee, and attended by several committee members at the Chamber’s headquarters in Muscat.
Discussions focused on the project’s progress stages, the level of coordination with relevant entities, and ongoing efforts to attract offers and tailored benefits for entrepreneurs benefiting from the platform. The Committee also reviewed the phased implementation plan, in addition to simplifying and accelerating project registration procedures, and setting timeline targets to attract the largest possible number of projects during the initial launch phase.
The meeting further addressed a proposal to expand the platform’s scope to include a broader segment of users, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining its core objective of supporting and empowering Omani entrepreneurs who manage their own businesses.

The Committee also discussed preparations for its upcoming meeting with H.E. the Minister of Labour, aimed at reviewing the challenges facing SMEs and transforming current challenges into opportunities that contribute to improving the business environment and enhancing sectoral organization, in a way that supports the growth of SMEs in the Sultanate of Oman.
On another note, the Committee’s Recruitment Offices Regulation Taskforce held a meeting to discuss key challenges facing recruitment offices. The meeting also reviewed the Recruitment Offices Regulation Platform, examining its mechanisms and role in regulating the recruitment of expatriate workforce, thereby improving efficiency and addressing related challenges.
