MUSCAT – The court sentenced the owner to six months’ imprisonment for a misdemeanour related to non-compliance in providing services as agreed. It also ordered the establishment to refund RO 16,565.5 to affected consumers, in addition to imposing fines totalling RO 4,400, bringing the overall financial penalties and refunds to RO 20,965.5.

According to the authority, the case involved agreements between the company and a group of consumers for travel packages that included hotel bookings in four- and five-star categories, tourism tours, airport transfers, and complimentary trips. Customers had paid for these services either in full or through instalments.

However, when consumers attempted to utilise the packages, they found the establishment had shut down and ceased operations without delivering the promised services.
