TEL AVIV : In a video statement, Katz said the Israeli military intends to establish a permanent security zone inside Lebanese territory, extending up to the Litani River. According to him, Israeli forces would maintain full security control over the area even after military operations conclude.

He further stated that displaced Lebanese residents would not be allowed to return to the affected zones, signalling a long-term shift in the demographic and security dynamics of the border region.

Katz also indicated that homes in villages near the border would be demolished, referencing models used in Gaza, including areas such as Rafah and Beit Hanoun. The approach, he suggested, would be aimed at preventing future threats from across the border.
