New Delhi: After his performance in the IPL 2026 opener against the Mumbai Indians, Ajinkya Rahane, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, gave a thoughtful answer to critics. After a break from competitive cricket in late 2025, the seasoned batsman made a strong comeback with an impressive 67 runs off 40 balls. Even though KKR lost the game despite his best efforts, Rahane’s knock was a notable highlight. Speaking to the media, he said that he is content with his present form and is more concerned with making consistent progress in the T20 format than flashing his talent to others.
Rahane also emphasized that a professional athlete’s career is full of criticism, which shouldn’t interfere with personal growth. He emphasized how he has spent the last two years honing his white-ball talents and modifying his approach to match the demands of contemporary T20 cricket.
