MUSCAT : According to Hassan bin Marhoon Al Marhoon, Director General of Thumrait Industrial City, the development project will span approximately 3.9 million square metres and is expected to cost around RO 15 million. The initiative is designed to transform the industrial city into a fully integrated hub capable of accommodating a wide range of industrial and investment activities.

The project will include a comprehensive package of infrastructure upgrades, such as the construction of internal road networks, water and sewage systems, fire suppression networks, and rainwater drainage channels. In addition, solar-powered street lighting and fencing works will be implemented to ensure a modern and sustainable industrial environment.

A key highlight of the development is the establishment of a dedicated services building along with ready-made entrepreneurial complexes. These facilities aim to support startups and small businesses by providing fully equipped workspaces, encouraging entrepreneurship and industrial innovation.

Al Marhoon noted that the project aligns with Madayn’s broader strategy to develop industrial cities across the Sultanate, enhancing their appeal to investors while contributing to Oman’s economic diversification goals. The initiative is also expected to generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities for Omani citizens.

Thumrait Industrial City holds a strategic advantage due to its proximity to concession areas, quarry sites, and the Najd agricultural region. This positioning makes it an ideal destination for industries such as mining, gypsum, cement, building materials, food production, and other manufacturing sectors.
