MUSCAT — Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has reported damage to a key mountain road linking Barakat Al Mouz to Al Jabal Al Akhdar following recent wadi flows, prompting partial closure of the route.
In a statement issued on March 27, the ministry said the flow of water in Wadi Al Maideen affected a section of the road, leading to erosion of asphalt layers and subsurface damage.
Authorities said precautionary measures were immediately implemented at the site, including the closure of one lane, while traffic continues to be regulated to ensure the safety of road users.

Specialised teams have been deployed to monitor the situation and carry out necessary repairs, the ministry added.
