TEHRAN : Iran’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement carried by the semi-official Mehr news agency, confirmed that there is currently no dialogue taking place between Tehran and Washington. The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with both sides exchanging sharp rhetoric.

The statement also criticised recent comments by former US President Donald Trump, suggesting that his stance is aimed at lowering energy prices while buying time to advance military strategies. Iran indicated that such moves reflect broader geopolitical calculations rather than genuine efforts toward de-escalation.

While acknowledging that several regional countries have initiated efforts to ease tensions, Iran maintained that responsibility ultimately lies with the United States. The ministry stressed that these concerns should be directed toward Washington, which it described as “the party that started this war.”
