WASHINGTON : In a statement, Trump said discussions between the United States and Iran have made encouraging progress, raising hopes for a broader agreement to ease hostilities in the region.

He confirmed that he has directed the Department of Defense to postpone all planned military strikes targeting Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days. The move is seen as a strategic pause to allow diplomatic efforts to continue without escalation.

Trump emphasized that the next course of action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing negotiations. “Further developments will depend on the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions,” he said.
