NEW DELHI : “In times of crisis, the safety of Indians in India and abroad is crucial,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday, as tensions in West Asia continue to affect travel and raise concerns for Indian nationals in the region.
Addressing lawmakers, Modi said Indian missions in affected countries are actively working to assist citizens, including workers and tourists, ensuring they receive support and up-to-date information.
“Our missions in the affected countries are continuously engaged in helping Indians. Whether it’s Indians working there or tourists who have gone there, everyone is being provided with all possible assistance,” he said.

He added that embassies are issuing regular advisories and have set up round-the-clock outreach systems, including 24/7 control rooms and emergency helplines, both in India and in affected regions.
“Through these, all affected people are being provided with the latest information,” Modi said.
The remarks come as regional instability has disrupted air travel and mobility across parts of West Asia, prompting several countries to activate contingency plans and support mechanisms for their citizens abroad.
