TEHRAN : Iran’s Football Federation has started talks with FIFA regarding the possibility of relocating the World Cup matches. Officials are considering alternative venues for future matches.

Negotiations are ongoing as organisers evaluate options to ensure smooth participation in the tournament. The agency is studying logistical, operational and compliance factors to identify suitable locations that meet international standards.

Football officials said the talks were part of a broader effort to avoid disruption and allow players to compete in a stable and well-organised environment. Alternative venues will be considered based on infrastructure, travel convenience and security arrangements.

Experts say such decisions are essential to maintaining the integrity of international competitions, as venue changes can impact team preparations, fan attendance and broadcast arrangements. FIFA is expected to work closely with the Iranian federation before making a final decision on a possible postponement of the match.
