New Delhi: The young captain believes that the current generation of players can achieve great things on the world stage.

Gill stressed the importance of consistency and preparation in the coming years, especially after India’s strong performances in recent international tournaments. Ahead of the global event, which will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, the team is expected to focus on developing young talent.

Speaking during a recent media interaction, Gill highlighted the importance of creating a balanced team that can adapt to different playing conditions. He noted that the team management is working on strengthening the batting and bowling departments and also providing opportunities to emerging players who have impressed in domestic competitions.

Gill also emphasised the value of experience and leadership within the team, saying senior players continue to play a key role in guiding their younger teammates. With several bilateral series and ICC tournaments scheduled in the coming years, India will use these opportunities to sharpen its strategy and prepare for the challenges of the 2027 World Cup.
